Products and Capabilities

Security and Surveillance

Single or multiple Video channels with Pan, Tilt and Zoom functions utilizing only a single fiber. Meridians products are used in conjunction with access control systems to monitor perimeter intrusion and detection, access control, alarm points or biometrics using fiber as a backbone. Laser-based systems are used for transmission of signals. In support of the Homeland Security initiative program, Meridian is an active member of the GSA task force with its products on the official GSA schedule and provides fiber optic transmission equipment for citywide networks for CCTV and surveillance applications.

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)

Meridian offers a complete and comprehensive line of digital fiber optic transmission products for control of full-motion CCTV surveillance, variable message signs (VMS), highway advisory radio, radar detection systems and traffic controllers. In addition Meridian offers a wide range of products for ITS video transport systems including 128-channel CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) systems. Traffic controllers, variable message signs, radar detectors and all other data traffic products deployed can be easily controlled using Meridians innovative multi-drop, self-healing ring modems that combine data communications with Meridians unique SpectraSmart network management system (NMS) which monitors and reports the operational status of the entire fiber optic network. These fiber optic products can also be connected to local law enforcement and emergency response offices for traffic management and to monitor traffic incidents.

Video Teleconferencing

Boardrooms and teleconferencing transmission equipment for bi-directional digital video, audio and data links over one fiber, compact and less costly.

Campus Educational Networks & Distant Learning

Digital broadcast-quality video and audio from a central library to the classrooms.This features high-quality fiber optic transmission for distant learning. Campus Educational Networks using bi-directional audio and video feeds with Meridians products as a backbone.

Trading Floor Market Data Services

High Quality Component Video and RGB transmission systems. Real-time stock market data transmission and broadcast-quality Video Feeds.

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)

Self-healing fiber optic ring topology for process control provides fiber redundancy. Equipment can be connected to field computers for control rooms as well as from control rooms and master headends. Graphical User Interface (GUI) based screens for actual visualization of fiber network operational status. This technology allows a user to collect data from distant locations and/or send control instructions to those facilities. SpectraSmart Diagnostic System - PC-based Network Management System (NMS) that monitors the performance of the entire fiber network including optical and electrical connectivity in real time.

Custom Design Projects

Meridian uses its engineering and manufacturing expertise to design and manufacture a variety of fiber optic specialty products as required by our customers and their applications. These include unique video/audio/data projects for both commercial and military applications.
